About the job Project Director
General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
- Main point of contact with the Ministry's Agency for Security Capabilities and the Ministry of Interior in everything related to the scope of work.
- Sets and controls deadlines, prioritizes tasks, and assigns team members to various deliverables.
- Hires and supervises new project managers for projects. Ensures there is allocation of common resources and skills within the programs individual projects.
- Reports detailed program status updates to leadership and executive team.
- Plans and manages the program and proactively monitors its progress, resolves issues and initiates appropriate corrective measures.
- Oversees every aspect of a program from conception to implementation.
- Work with leadership to set strategic goals and objectives for the program.
- Builds project implementation team, develops project milestones and implements budgets based on the strategic goals of the program.
- Lead and evaluate project managers and other staff.
- Provides strategic guidance to the program's project managers. Facilitates communication among the program's cross-functional team.
- Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement.
- Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance.
- Monitors performance to assure successful delivery of the Key Performance Indicators.
- Coordinates with Design Manager during the detailed Design stage of the Project to ensure Design Compliance
- Coordinate cross-project activities.
- Develops the organization structure.
- Show empathy, offer support, and gives constructive and respectful feedback. Communicates effectively and offers strategies and guidance to the team.
- Assesses submitted variations and claims and reports the impact of any proposed changes.
- Reviews weekly and monthly reports as presented by Project Control Department.
- Attends Executive meetings and progress meetings.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree in Engineering from a university accredited by the Ministry of Education.
- At least 15-25 years of experience in managing or leading major international programs and projects for leading government/semi-government entities with professional documentation of excellence in project implementation as a direct project manager.
- Experience in direct supervision of the following functional disciplines: engineering, project implementation control, contracts, procurement, health, safety, security, environment, risk management, financial management, quality assurance and quality control. His experience has been gained from large projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experienced experience working on a global scale (preferably in the Middle East/Saudi Arabia).
- Work with a wide range of utility service providers and engage extensively with stakeholders from the commercial and public sectors.
- Proven career in continuous improvement management and capacity building/talent development support (preferably within Saudi Arabia).
