Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Project Director to lead and manage the design and build of transportation projects, with a particular focus on urban tramway systems. The ideal candidate will have over 20 years of experience in the management of large-scale transportation projects and a proven track record in successfully delivering tramway projects in urban environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership:
- Lead and oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from conceptual design through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to project teams, including engineering, design, construction, and support staff.
- Design and Construction Management:
- Manage the design and engineering process, ensuring that all technical requirements and standards are met.
- Oversee the construction process, including contractor management, quality control, and safety compliance.
- Implement and monitor project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between all project stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and address any issues or concerns that arise.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including safety and environmental considerations.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, including forecasting and cost control.
- Approve expenditures and ensure financial accountability throughout the project.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and enforce quality assurance procedures to ensure high standards are maintained throughout the project.
- Conduct regular project reviews and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Innovation and Improvement:
- Promote and implement innovative solutions and best practices in project management and construction techniques.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
Skills
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, RICS) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience in project management, with significant experience in the design and construction of transportation projects. At least one completed tramway project in an urban environment is required.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in project management software and construction management tools. Familiarity with relevant engineering standards and regulations.
