We are seeking a highly experienced Program/Project Specialist with over 12 years of expertise to lead and manage an Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) for a two-year engagement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing, operating, and optimizing the EPMO to ensure successful delivery of strategic programs and projects. This role involves overseeing governance, aligning projects with organizational objectives, and driving excellence in project and program management practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesEPMO Leadership:
- Establish, operate, and continuously enhance the EPMO to support organizational strategy and goals.
- Define EPMO structure, roles, and responsibilities, ensuring alignment with best practices and organizational needs.
- Develop and implement standardized project management methodologies, frameworks, and tools.
Governance and Compliance:
- Design and enforce project governance frameworks, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, standards, and best practices.
- Monitor compliance with project management guidelines and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
Portfolio Management:
- Oversee the management of the organization's project portfolio, ensuring resource allocation and prioritization align with strategic objectives.
- Provide visibility into program and project performance, risks, and outcomes through regular reporting and dashboards.
Program/Project Oversight:
- Monitor the progress of strategic programs and projects, identifying and resolving risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while meeting quality standards.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with senior leadership, project sponsors, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment of initiatives with business objectives.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among cross-functional teams and departments.
Capacity Building:
- Mentor and train project managers and team members on best practices in program and project management.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and innovation within the EPMO.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Develop and implement KPIs and metrics to track the performance of the EPMO and individual projects.
- Provide regular status reports, executive summaries, and insights to leadership on the performance of the project portfolio.
Qualifications and RequirementsEducation:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. PMP, PgMP, or PRINCE2 certification is required.
Experience:
- 12+ years of experience in program/project management, with at least 5 years in managing or establishing an EPMO.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale, complex projects and programs across multiple industries.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in project management tools and systems such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
