Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Banking Subject Matter Expert (SME) with at least 20 years of experience in managing large-scale banking projects. The ideal candidate will lead the Core Banking program and related projects, ensuring compliance with the bank's governance policies and procedures while driving successful execution. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, and the ability to steer projects through all phases of the lifecycle from initiation to delivery.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Program Charter Development: Develop the Program Charter in line with the bank’s governance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with the overall organizational strategy.
  • Project Oversight: Monitor and oversee project progress, propose required resources based on each project phase, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure program success.
  • Core Banking Program Management: Manage the Core Banking program and related projects, ensuring they adhere to approved project management policies and processes.
  • Stakeholder & Team Management: Lead and manage stakeholders and project teams to ensure program objectives are delivered on time and within budget, according to the agreed scope.
  • Project Lifecycle Compliance: Ensure streamlined execution of all assigned projects by ensuring compliance with the project lifecycle stages, from initiation to design, delivery, and closure.
  • PMO Standards Compliance: Ensure all projects under the program are aligned with PMO standards and processes throughout all lifecycle stages.
  • Scope & Resource Management: Oversee program scope, monitor project timelines, budget, and resources, and track any issues or risks. Proactively manage program tasks and timelines for milestone completion and critical path management.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all program deliverables meet the business and IT requirements, are of high quality, and align with stakeholder expectations.
  • Issue and Risk Resolution: Act as the escalation point between project steering committees and the PMO, Transformation Execution Committee, and MANCOM to resolve issues and mitigate risks that may arise during program delivery.
  • Project Dependency Management: Manage inter-project dependencies within the program and across the wider bank portfolio.
  • Daily Project Reviews: Lead daily check-in meetings with Project Managers, reviewing actions and progress, ensuring the timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous business process improvement, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement by leveraging international best practices in banking.
  • Senior Management Reporting: Report program progress, updates, and any concerns to the bank’s Senior Management in accordance with the bank's governance standards.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Comply with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
