Job Description

1. Pre-Production:
  • Project Development: Collaborate with screenwriters, directors, and other key creative personnel to develop and refine the concept of the film.
  • Script Selection: Work closely with scriptwriters and directors to select and finalize the screenplay or script.
  • Budgeting: Prepare a detailed production budget, identifying sources of funding and ensuring the project is financially viable.
  • Funding & Financing: Secure financing from investors, production companies, or government grants (especially as part of Vision 2030's initiatives to boost the film industry).
  • Casting: Oversee the casting process, working with casting agents to select talent that fits the project’s needs.
  • Hiring Crew: Recruit key members of the production team, including director, cinematographer, production designers, and others.
  • Scheduling: Plan and create a production timeline, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are met.
2. Production:
  • Managing Production: Supervise day-to-day operations of the film set, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
  • Problem Solving: Address any logistical issues, conflicts, or challenges that arise during filming.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and locations, to ensure the production stays within budget.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the quality of the film production by monitoring the work of the director, crew, and actors.
  • Compliance: Ensure the production complies with local regulations, including licensing, permits, and safety standards. Knowledge of Saudi media regulations and filmmaking laws is crucial.
3. Post-Production:
  • Oversee Editing: Supervise the editing process, working with editors to shape the final product.
  • Marketing and Distribution: Collaborate with distributors, studios, and marketing teams to develop a strategy for the film's release and promotional efforts.
  • Film Festivals & Awards: Submit the film to national and international film festivals, ensuring that it gets exposure and recognition.
  • Finalizing the Film: Ensure the final product is ready for release in theaters or on streaming platforms, ensuring all aspects are complete, including sound, color grading, and visual effects.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Investor Communication: Maintain communication with investors, updating them on the progress of the film and ensuring financial transparency.
  • Client Relationships: Work with external partners, sponsors, and brands for product placement, promotions, and other collaborations.
  • Government Relations: Work closely with government agencies or film commissions to secure necessary permits and support, particularly under the framework of Saudi Vision 2030 for film and media development.
