Job Description

The Procurement Engineer plays a crucial role in the civil engineering sector, particularly in managing the procurement processes for various projects in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge and negotiation skills to ensure that materials and services are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the civil engineering industry, along with experience in sourcing and purchasing activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project requirements and company objectives.
  2. Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure the best prices and quality.
  3. Monitor market trends and supplier performance to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  4. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to determine material specifications and delivery timelines.
  5. Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including purchase orders and contracts.
  6. Conduct regular audits of procurement processes to identify areas for improvement.
  7. Manage relationships with suppliers and resolve any issues related to deliveries or quality.
  8. Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations in procurement practices.
  9. Assist in budget preparation and cost control measures related to procurement.
  10. Provide training and support to junior procurement staff as needed.
