Position Overview:
The Controls & Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of control systems and instrumentation within our operations. This role requires extensive knowledge in field troubleshooting and a deep understanding of C&I issues as they relate to P&IDs. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
:
- Perform field troubleshooting of control systems and instrumentation to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Analyze P&IDs to diagnose and address C&I issues, ensuring accurate and effective solutions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain control strategies to optimize process performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to ensure seamless integration of C&I systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis of control system failures and implement corrective actions.
- Design and modify control systems to meet operational requirements and improve system reliability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for control systems and instrumentation.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
- Participate in the development and execution of preventive maintenance programs for control systems and instrumentation.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in control systems and instrumentation technologies and recommend improvements.
Qualifications
:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in field troubleshooting and identifying C&I issues at a P&ID level.
- Strong knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs and other technical drawings.
- Experience with PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and related software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for control systems and instrumentation.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience in Industrial gases.
- Knowledge of advanced control strategies and techniques.
