Job Purpose
One of KAUST Beacon Development’s (KBD) core services is the delivery of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) to international standards.
KBD works on several giga projects which require on-going ESIA and environmental management support.
This role will require the person to write and coordinate ESIAs and related reports for giga project clients.
Major Accountabilities
- Lead EIA Projects;
- Lead author for EIA reports, ESIA reports, Scoping Reports and Environmental Management Plans;
- Preparation of proposals for EIA, environmental surveys and environmental monitoring programs;
- Development and delivery of EIA projects from conception through to permitting;
- Project management of EIA projects including coordination of inputs from subject matter experts, field survey personnel and sub-consultants;
- Working with clients and design consultants to integrate the EIA process and EIA outputs into the design, including leading workshops to help shape project environmental design.
- Management of budget and schedule performance.
Person Requirements
Competencies / Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar field either as a subject matter expert or as an EIA Project Manager;
- Excellent knowledge of environmental science, EIA processes, environmental surveys and monitoring techniques;
- Excellent report writing skills in English;
- Project management skills, including schedule, staff resource and budget management;
- Ability to speak and write Arabic would be an advantage;
- Previous experience of working the Middle East would be an advantage.
Qualifications
- Minimum BSc in a relevant subject.
