Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Oversight: Ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of all plant equipment on site, including cranes, excavators, loaders, and other heavy machinery commonly used in construction and oil & gas projects.
- Technical Support: Provide expert-level guidance on the selection, usage, and maintenance of plant equipment, ensuring the team can troubleshoot, resolve issues, and optimize equipment performance.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Oversee routine and emergency maintenance of equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
- Procurement & Resource Planning: Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of required spare parts and equipment. Advise on necessary upgrades or replacements for plant machinery as needed.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all plant and equipment comply with relevant local, regional, and international safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, API). Conduct safety audits and lead equipment safety briefings.
- Training & Mentorship: Provide training to operators, technicians, and other team members on best practices for equipment operation and maintenance. Mentor junior staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of plant equipment.
- Equipment Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on equipment performance, usage data, and maintenance schedules to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the construction team, project managers, and other SMEs to ensure smooth operations and alignment with project timelines and budgets.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of equipment inspections, maintenance, repairs, and downtime. Provide regular status updates to senior management and report on any major equipment-related challenges.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience in plant equipment management, maintenance, and operation in Oil & Gas, construction, or heavy industrial environments
- Expertise in a wide range of plant equipment (cranes, pumps, compressors, excavators, bulldozers, etc.), their maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of safety standards, regulatory compliance, and best practices in plant operations
- Proven ability to lead and train teams, and mentor junior staff in the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment.
