Piping Engineer

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

The Piping Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing piping systems for large hotels and hospitality environments. This role requires a deep understanding of piping design, fluid dynamics, and plumbing systems, combined with significant experience in the hospitality sector. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, other engineering disciplines, and clients to deliver effective and efficient piping solutions.

• Lead and manage piping engineering projects from design through to implementation and commissioning, with a focus on large hotels and hospitality environments.
• Develop and implement piping design strategies to optimize system performance and efficiency.
• Design and configure piping systems, including plumbing, HVAC, and process piping, to meet project specifications and client requirements.
• Conduct system integration and ensure compatibility with other building systems.
• In conjunction with the Engineering Team BIM Specialists conduct reviews for clash detection with Consultants / D&B Contractors submissions and assist in the overall clash detection and coordination process to resolve design conflicts and optimize project efficiency
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and validation to ensure optimal functionality.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and review piping design documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and other disciplines to integrate piping solutions.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure proper installation and operation of piping systems.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to achieve project objectives.
• Mentor and supervise junior piping engineers and technical staff.
• Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in piping engineering, with a strong background in large hotels and hospitality projects.
• Extensive knowledge of piping design, fluid dynamics, and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in piping design software such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, or similar.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid drivers license and willingness to travel as required.
