Install, maintain, and repair piping systems and equipment aboard maritime vessels.
Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine the layout of piping systems.
Measure and cut pipes to the required lengths, ensuring proper alignment and fitting.
Assemble and weld pipe sections, supports, brackets, and hangers using appropriate tools and techniques.
Ensure all work meets the specifications and regulations set by IACS and other relevant standards.
Perform pressure testing on completed systems to ensure integrity and functionality.
Collaborate with other team members, including welders, engineers, and other technical staff, to complete projects efficiently.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines during all tasks.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to piping systems, including leaks, blockages, and failures.
Maintain and inspect tools and equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Experience: Proven experience working as a Pipe Fitter in the maritime industry, specifically on new vessels, military, or commercial projects.
IACS Affiliation: Candidates must have experience working under any registers affiliated with the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).
Strong knowledge of piping systems, welding techniques, and industry standards.
Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and various weather conditions.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with military vessels or high-precision projects in the maritime industry.
Knowledge of advanced pipe fitting and welding techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
