We are currently considering candidates with aviation, other transportation or complex public accessible building project experience to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for a major infrastructure project in Riyadh should it be awarded to Bechtel. This posting serves as an expression of interest only.

Job Summary:



In this role, you will be accountable for supervising and managing the work of the customer’s designers and contractors in the delivery of design for the airport terminal Automated People Mover (APM) system. You will prepare estimates, work plans, progress reports and assist with the tender, evaluation and award recommendations for the APM contractor.
You will coordinate and collaborate with other teams such as the Terminal Delivery teams, Stakeholder Management, Contracts & Procurement and Start-up/Commissioning as required through all stages of the Project life cycle. Your technical expertise and coordination will ensure outcomes meet customer and project requirements.

Major Responsibilities:



Supervision and management of the customer’s designers and contractors in the delivery of the terminal Automated People Mover (APM) system design. Review of technical submissions from designers and contractor relating to the APM system. Support to Contracts & Procurement in the delivery of design to support procurement and post tender technical evaluation and award recommendations. Monitoring & reporting on the progress and performance of the customer’s designers and contractor. Coordination with the Stakeholder Management team to ensure that all required permits and approvals are achieved in a timely manner throughout the Project life cycle. Support to Construction & Quality delivery teams during the execution of the works relating to the APM system, including resolution of requests for information, field change requests, non-conformance reports and work inspection requests. Support the undertaking of vendor factory testing & inspections for the APM system. Support to Start-Up/Commissioning team from the outset to ensure that start-up/commissioning and hand-over requirements are addressed early in the APM design process and support the conduct of testing and commissioning of APM equipment during the execution of the works. Coordinate APM system design with other project disciplines, review project design criteria, vendor submissions, construction inspection records and startup test reports Coordinate APM system design integration across numerous contracts, work packages and stakeholders. Liaison with customer representatives as the subject matter expert and accountable person for delivery of APM system engineering documentation, including presentations and reporting as required. Undertake audits, reports and present findings of designer, contractor, stakeholder and project team application and adherence to engineering processes and policies. Support the production of verification packages to facilitate turnover of the completed APM system and facilities.

Education and Experience Requirements:



Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) Minimum of 12 years of total engineering experience with10 years of relevant APM systems engineering experience, including prior experience with APM systems for airport terminals. Professional accreditation (e.g. PE license or Chartership) with an appropriate internationally recognized body.

Required Knowledge and Skills:



Knowledge and experience with APM system design, construction, testing and operation. Familiarity with applicable national and international design codes, including ASCE 21, ASME A17, and NFPA codes. Familiarity with sustainability design requirements and third party sustainability accreditation requirements such as LEED. Understanding of airline industry and international regulatory codes, standards and design criteria relating to airport design. Experience with integration of airport APM systems into SCADA and other airport systems. Knowledge of interface management and the management of system to civil and system to system interfaces. Possesses working knowledge and production ability with computer-aided drafting software, such as AutoCAD and Revit. Possesses a working knowledge of BIM processes, including experience designing projects in BIM platforms, particularly Revit and Navisworks.
