Description
Key Responsibilities:
PACS Management: Maintain and oversee the PACS, including monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating updates or upgrades to the system.Data Management: Ensure accurate and secure storage of medical images and related data. Implement data backup and recovery processes to prevent data loss.User Support: Provide support and training to radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals in the use of PACS. Address user issues promptly to ensure optimal workflow.Integration: Work with IT and other departments to ensure PACS is integrated with other systems, such as electronic health records (EHR) and radiology information systems (RIS).Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of medical images in the PACS. Implement and maintain quality control procedures to meet regulatory requirements.Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other patient privacy laws. Implement security measures to protect patient data.Vendor Relations: Coordinate with PACS vendors for technical support, maintenance, and system upgrades. Manage vendor contracts and ensure service level agreements are met.Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of PACS operations, including system configurations, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in medical imaging technology. Identify opportunities for improving PACS functionality and efficiency.
Profile
Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, radiologic technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CIIP - Certified Imaging Informatics Professional) are a plus.Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in PACS administration or a related role in healthcare imaging.Technical Skills: Proficiency in PACS software and related imaging technologies. Familiarity with DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) standards and HL7 protocols.Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to address technical issues and implement effective solutions.Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and IT teams.Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
