Today, we are recruiting for an OT Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in Saudi Arabia. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.
What are my responsibilities?
- Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling for OT systems, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Maintain and update the OT cybersecurity risk register, ensuring that all known vulnerabilities are tracked and managed.
- Assist in compliance with relevant regulations and standards (NCA and IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001) across OT environments.
- Design, implement, and manage security architectures for industrial automation and control systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, IT, engineering) to integrate cybersecurity into OT projects.
- Ensure network segmentation between IT and OT environments to minimize attack surfaces.
- Implement robust access control mechanisms, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and network firewall configurations.
- Develop and manage vulnerability management processes, including vulnerability identification, analysis, and remediation planning.
- Perform vulnerability scanning and assessments of OT environments.
- Deploy and monitor intrusion detection systems (IDS), firewalls, and other security tools within OT networks.
- Work within vendor or warranty restrictions to apply non-intrusive security measures.
- Analyze network traffic to detect abnormalities and potential risks.
- Monitor OT networks for unusual behaviors and recommend actions to mitigate identified threats.
- Implement measures to minimize operational risks and ensure network integrity.
- Support OT-related security incidents, including incident response and containment.
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical OT infrastructure.
- Participate in threat hunting and advanced persistent threat (APT) mitigation activities.
- Gather and maintain comprehensive asset information for OT systems.
- Ensure the integrity and security of OT asset inventories and track all changes.
- Write and update cybersecurity policies and procedures for OT environments.
- Ensure documentation aligns with regulatory requirements and industry standards (IEC 62443, NERC CIP, Saudi NCA).
- Stay current with the latest OT cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and trends.
- Incorporate threat intelligence into security operations and proactively improve defenses.
- Provide cybersecurity awareness training to OT teams and other stakeholders.
- Assist in developing training programs that improve the security posture of the OT environment.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in an OT environment (preferably in industries such as transportation, energy).
- CCNA, CCNP, IEC62443, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional), or equivalent.
- Deep understanding of OT protocols
- Hands-on experience with ICS/SCADA systems
- Proficiency in network security within OT environments, including firewalls, VLANs, and network segmentation.
- Strong knowledge of industrial cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82).
- Familiarity with OT-specific hardware and operating systems.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
