OSS Consultant

OSS Consultant - Telco Consultancy 

This role will be responsible to challenge OSS architecture designs coming from newly designed use cases for the modernization of the OSS network. He/She will be working closely with senior leadership and will be key stakeholders in the architecture review board that they will enact.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture Review: Conduct in-depth reviews of OSS architecture designs for compliance with organizational and industry standards (e.g., TM Forum, 3GPP).

• Standards Adherence: Ensure all architectural designs adhere to relevant telecommunications frameworks such as eTOM, SID, 3GPP, and TOGAF, maintaining consistency across projects.

• Architecture Assessment: Provide technical assessments of OSS-related architectures focusing on scalability, performance, integration with BSS systems, and overall network alignment.

• Governance and Best Practices: Lead architecture review sessions, making sure that all designs are compliant with governance frameworks and industry best practices, particularly around service assurance, fault management, and network configuration.

• Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders, including network architects, software engineers, project managers, and operations teams, to align OSS designs with broader enterprise architecture initiatives.

• Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify potential architectural risks and provide mitigation strategies to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of OSS implementations.

• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of architecture reviews, decisions, and recommendations, ensuring traceability of design changes and architectural decisions across projects.

• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous refinement of architecture governance processes and review frameworks.

Qualifications:

• Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in telecommunications, with a strong focus on OSS architecture and network systems.

• Proven experience in conducting architecture reviews and design assessments in a telecom environment.

• Solid background in network management systems, performance monitoring, and configuration management for telecom operators.

• Knowledge:

• In-depth knowledge of telecommunications standards, including TM Forum frameworks (eTOM, SID), 3GPP standards, and TOGAF architecture framework.

• Expertise in OSS/BSS integration, with a clear understanding of the interdependencies between network layers (RAN, Core, Transmission) and OSS systems.

• Familiarity with ITIL and IT service management practices in the context of OSS solutions.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficient in network and system design tools and platforms used for OSS architecture (e.g., modeling tools, validation platforms).
