Job Description
Job Purpose
Manage inventory of supplies, instruments, and equipment on Operating Room (OR) and supports continuous operation by maintaining accurate records of inventory levels and transactions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards related to OR supplies and equipment.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Engage in regular supply and instrument meetings.
- Maintain up to date inventory.
- Understand and develop OR supply storage location.
- Maintain supplies labelling.
- Agree par levels and AMU for all items.
- Liaise with nursing to anticipate and adapt to changing needs.
- Work with OR nursing, OR management ad Supply Chain to anticipate and communicate critical shortages.
- Assist with regular delivery and storage of supplies.
- Assist end-users and supply chain with ordering of instruments.
- Expedite existing purschase orders.
- Assist with ordering and re-ordering of supplies through IT systems and monitor progress of all requests.
- Assist CSSD in inventory maintenance.
- Work with supply chain on non-available items and evaluation of possible alternatives.
- Respects patients and their families to promote a patient-centered care culture.
- Participates and supports quality improvement and patient safety activities as an individual or with multidisciplinary teams.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Job Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum or Required:
Bachelor Degree in Anesthesia, Operating Room, Health/hospital Administration, Health Sciences, or Nursing.
