Job Description

Job Purpose / Objective


Coordinates and implements continuous nursing quality improvement activities to attain high quality patient care as well as provide training and monitor the implementation of nursing quality improvement policies and procedures. Partners and collaborates with the Hospital Quality Department for the provision of Nursing quality initiatives required for the preparation of CBAHI and JCIA.


Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities


  • Coordinate all activities related to Nursing Quality and monitor Quality Improvement Programs for the hospital in accordance to the established standards of the hospital and accreditation requirements.
  • Conduct data analysis and identifies opportunities for improvement in nursing services and other health care supports.
  • Participate in internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with organization practices and procedures, government regulations and nursing practice standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the internal audit reports.
  • Conduct educational sessions and ensure employees’ complete awareness of the quality system and orientates new employees to the system.
  • Ensure nursing employees’ have complete awareness of the vision, mission and goals of the hospital and Nursing Services.
  • Provide guidance to the staff, counsels them in quality improvement activities and patient safety programs.
  • Keep the original copy of the quality goals and ensure these goals are approved and distributed to all concerned units and administrations.
  • Maintain a copy of the nursing procedure manual with an index that clarifies the number of each procedure and updates the index when changes are made to the procedures.
  • Ensure nursing quality standards and approved criteria reach all nursing staff in all units/wards.
  • Assist head nurse in conducting patient satisfaction surveys, analyze the data to measure the patient and staff satisfaction, keep records of the results and share with leadership and Hospital Quality Department.
  • Assist in generating regular reports regarding the facility quality control practices, achievements and possibility of improvement.
  • Report any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations which place patient, staff or visitors at risk of injury or other harm.
  • Support Quality Head Nurse to ensure compliance with Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) and Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) activities.
  • Assist in all incident reports, patient complaints, patient care issues and root cause analysis using the risk management methodology.
  • Maintain the list of the hospital forms used in the facility and the place where these forms are kept.
  • Participate and assist in the regularly quality committee meetings.
  • Maintain professional communication skills by answering telephone calls, sending e-mails and dealing with departmental inquiries.
  • Participates in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
  • Enriches patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
  • Perform other applicable tasks and duties within the realm of his/her Knowledge skills and abilities. 

Education/ Professional Qualification


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Nursing and Quality Management

Experience 


  • One year of related experience in the field of Quality or healthcare management

Professional Licensing / Certification / Training 


  • BLS, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred
  • Saudi Council & Licensed from Country of Origin
