Job Purpose / Objective
Responsible for the delivery of quality orientation, training and educational activities to the HMG nursing workforce based on current research and educational trends. Ensures that nursing education supports the direction and development of the Nursing Department and the quality of nursing care, evidence- based practice and services provided to patients. Adopts educational and training requirements in a timely way to meet the changing strategic aims and objectives of HMG and will seek to be a champion of change for all staff.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Participates in the process of establishing standards to ensure that nursing training programs are developed in accordance with the overall direction.
- Evaluates adult learning principles, expected outcomes, and a range of recognized education methods to deliver quality nursing education programs.
- Assumes responsibility for classroom education, deliveries and activities.
- Uses appropriate evaluation instruments to assess learning and achievement of objectives and initiates remedial assistance where needed.
- Implements and evaluates theoretical and practical learning opportunities and assessment of competency-based orientation program.
- Provides support, guidance, and feedback for Clinical Instructors on their performance and to new nursing staff to complete the orientation competencies within the designated time.
- Utilizes a core of essential knowledge and skills to be effective and achieve excellence in the role. This entails the ability to facilitate learning, advancement, total development and professional socialization of the learner; design appropriate learning experiences, and evaluate learning outcomes.
- Maintains employee confidentiality regarding learning styles, progress, and test results of both formal and informal assessment and learning outcomes.
- Integrates ethical principles into all aspects of practice.
- Implements, assess and evaluate educational objectives for clinical competency, consistence with the goals and objectives of the Nursing Department.
- Implements and evaluates the process to establish clinical nursing standards through education and stimulation in accordance with the vision and mission of HMG.
- Identifies learning needs of patients and participates in setting plans and objectives to meet these needs.
- Follows and ensures compliance by staff on all nursing and hospital policies.
- Acts as a role model and leader in clinical nursing practice through active participation in competency development and provision of feedback.
- Designs, implements and evaluates the development and implementation of instructional and reference materials.
- Participates in performance improvement program for assigned education services that include an evaluation, recording and reporting system for education programs and recognition of staff achievements.
- Ensures implementation of and guides the nursing staff in providing patient and family education.
- Maintains a positive rapport with immediate supervisor and performs reporting in a timely manner as to the activities, program development and results achieved as well as issues and concerns.
- Participates in organizing and takes part in seminars / workshops / activities towards enhancing professional development.
- Participates in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enriches patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Performs other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/ her knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Education/ Professional Qualification
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
Professional - Preferably Nursing / Nursing Education
- Experience
Minimum of at least 6 years working experience in same specialty
- Professional Licensing / Certification / Training
Valid registration of MOH & Saudi Council
