Job Purpose / Objective:
Help diagnose and treat neurological diseases and disorders, perform non-invasive neurological tests on patients as directed by Physician using different electro neuro diagnostics equipment. Neuro tech frequently use electroencephalogram (EEG) machine which monitors and records brain patterns
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Performing Neuro diagnostic procedure:
- Electroencephalography (EEG)
- Nerve conduction NCS
- Other Neurology procedure
- Prepare and assist patient to be prepared for the prescribed procedure.
- Explain and provide the required education to patient and family.
- Adhere to infection control principles.
- Adhere to JCIA/ CBAHI standards to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Adhere to documentation policy.
- Assist the Neurologist in performing NCS (Neuro Conduction Study) and Electromyography (EMG).
- Operate and manage neuro machine and report any malfunction.
- Answer all patient/ family queries.
- Monitor patient vital signs.
- Initiate emergency measures and call for help.
- Maintain stock supplies and order on time.
- Maintain proper record of the procedures for charges purposes.
- Schedule the patients to avoid delaying and patient un-satisfaction.
- Perform portable procedure for in-patient/ other department.
- Ensure proper care in the use of the machine and supplies.
- Provide post procedure care and ensure patient is comfort and safe.
- Attend the education and training session.
- Attend meeting as needed.
- Participates in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enriches patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Perform any delegated task by Charge Nurse within the realm of knowledge, skills and ability.
Education/ Professional Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Neuro Science or Nursing with Neuroscience certification
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience, preferably experience in same area
