Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Ensure network equipment is properly integrated and operational.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Perform diagnostic tests and resolve network problems to minimize downtime.
  • Maintenance & Upgrades: Perform routine maintenance and updates on network equipment and software. Plan and execute network upgrades and enhancements as needed.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to end-users regarding network-related issues. Assist with setting up and configuring networked devices, including computers, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures. Update network diagrams and inventory records.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce network security policies and practices. Monitor for and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities within the network.
  • Collaboration: Work with IT and other departments to support network-related projects and ensure network requirements are met. Assist in planning and implementing network changes and improvements.
  • Training & Guidance: Offer guidance and training to users on network best practices and troubleshoot any connectivity issues they may experience.


Skills

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Network Technician or in a similar role. Experience with [specific network technologies or systems relevant to your industry] is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in network protocols, hardware, and software.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve network issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with network security practices and tools.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work on-call or outside regular hours if necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
