JOB PURPOSE



Responsible to the Departmental Director, for the management and coordination of all Al Jawf Class, Mine Hunter, Marine Propulsion, Mechanical and Electrical System issues. Provide expertise to the RSNF in areas of Marine Propulsion, Mechanical and Electrical Systems Engineering ship design, modification and engineering changes. Conduct in depth engineering analysis of defects/deficiencies.

Responsibilities



· Assess all proposed Engineering Changes, Modifications, Technical Instructions and related acceptance activities associated with the Marine Propulsion, Mechanical and Electrical Systems, onboard the Al Jawf Class and its shore side supporting facilities, including the Specialised Shore Side Workshops.
· Conduct in depth analysis of onboard systems, equipment failures or deficiencies to determine cause and make recommendations for corrective measures, modification to maintenance routines or changes in operating procedures.
· Responsible for the production of RSNF Requirements and Specifications for future modifications, review and propose amendments to the subsequent Work Package from the contractor.
· Oversee acceptance and commissioning of equipment / systems as required.
· Compile Engineering Briefs for RSNF Officers.
· Lead level 3 Technical Meetings and contribute to level 2 Technical Meetings as a SME. Attend other meetings and liaise with other Directorates of the RSNF, as required.
· Comply with all RSNF directives safety procedures and maintain confidentiality of RSNF and Hunter Project data at all times.

Job Requirements:



Essential:
Educated to degree level in Engineering or an equivalent professional Engineering qualification.
In depth knowledge of Marine Propulsion, Mechanical and Electrical Systems.
Mine Hunter Engineering experience.
Experience in various stages of the Engineering Design process and equipment Life Cycle Management.
Experience of Engineering Safety and Workplace Health & Safety.
Desirable:
Knowledge of Single Role Mine Hunter operations.
Knowledge of ITAR.
