Role Purpose
Leading MYP Visual Arts, the Visual Arts Teacher will develop a curriculum consistent with the MYP framework and the MYP Arts Subject Guide and will create units of inquiry relating to the various Arts subjects. This position supports and implements the learning program in accordance with the policies and philosophy of NEOM EC-12 under the supervision and direction of the Divisional Head/Assistant Head of School and the Head of School.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery:
- Develop and implement engaging lessons aligned with the MYP Visual & Performing Arts framework.
- Foster creativity, artistic expression, and cultural exploration.
Differentiated Instruction:
- Tailor teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive environment.
- Encourage experimentation and individual artistic styles.
Artistic Exploration:
- Facilitate diverse artistic exploration.
- Guide students in understanding and appreciating various art forms and styles.
Assessment and Feedback:
- Develop and administer assessments to gauge student understanding and progress in visual/performing arts.
- Provide constructive feedback to support students in enhancing their artistic skills.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and create a cohesive learning experience.
- Foster positive relationships with other MYP teachers and contribute to cross-subject connections, particularly with subjects that complement visual arts.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on artistic trends, techniques, and advancements in Visual and Performing Arts education.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Parent and Community Engagement:
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and involvement in arts related activities.
- Collaborate with the community to enhance the visual and performing arts learning experience.

BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Dramatic Arts or a related field.
Teaching Experience:
- Proven experience as a Visual/Performing Arts teacher, preferably within an IB MYP framework.
Artistic Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of various art forms, techniques, and art history.
- Ability to inspire a love for visual and performing arts and creativity.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective teamwork.
- Experience working with diverse learning needs and creating an inclusive studio environment.
Curriculum Development:
- Expertise in curriculum development based on the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework.
