Job Description

The MEP Quantity Surveyor plays a crucial role in the construction and engineering industry, especially within the electrical engineering sector. This position involves the management of costs and budgets for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all financial aspects of MEP projects are accurately estimated, monitored, and controlled throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge and financial acumen to effectively contribute to the success of various projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP projects based on project specifications and drawings.
  2. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects and provide recommendations.
  3. Monitor project costs and budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
  4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate project execution.
  5. Review and analyze subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
  6. Prepare and submit progress reports and financial forecasts to stakeholders.
  7. Assist in the negotiation of contracts and agreements with clients and suppliers.
  8. Evaluate and manage variations and claims throughout the project lifecycle.
  9. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all financial dealings.
  10. Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to MEP projects.
