Job Description
Job Purpose / Objective :
Responsible to transcribe patient medical information accurately and efficiently and other assigned typing duties using transcribing and word-processing equipment.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities :
- Fills out and receives patients medical request forms.
- Logs all incoming medical requests for references.
- Types the handwritten Arabic reports done by the doctor.
- Typing miscellaneous reports/letters from doctors and other clinics.
- Identifies mistakes in reports, and check with doctors to obtain the correct information.
- Translates medical term and abbreviations into their expanded forms to ensure the accuracy of patient.
- Communicates effectively with medical staff and allied personnel concerning the progress of medical reports within the limits of confidentiality laws.
- Communicate with patients for processing their request and releasing of medical reports.
- Implements and monitors the appropriate approved policies and procedures to achieve the hospital goals/objectives in pursuit of standard care, quality performance and improvement.
- Check patient referral forms and fill up the information on the sick leave form.
- Applies the policies of MOH and HMG regarding the issuance of sick leave.
- Complies with the standards laid down by the joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA)/ Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI).
- Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realms of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
Education/ Professional Qualification:
- College graduate or diploma holder
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in the same field.
