Job SummaryThe Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling to ensureoptimal performance. This role requires extensive experience in engine overhauling, with afocus on quality workmanship and adherence to manufacturer standards. The mechanic willwork as part of the service team to deliver high-quality repairs, contributing to customersatisfaction and dealership success.Key ResponsibilitiesEngine Overhauling and Repair- Perform complete engine overhauls, including disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly,and testing of engines.- Diagnose engine-related issues using proper diagnostic tools and techniques to determinenecessary repairs.- Replace or repair engine components such as pistons, crankshafts, bearings, valves,gaskets, and seals.- Ensure that overhauled engines meet manufacturer specifications and dealership qualitystandards.Diagnostics and Troubleshooting- Use advanced diagnostic equipment to identify engine problems accurately.- Conduct compression tests, leak-down tests, and other diagnostics to assess engine health.- Collaborate with the Service Advisor to provide detailed information on required repairs.Maintenance and General Repairs- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluidchecks.- Repair or replace other vehicle components as required, including drivetrain,transmission, and cooling systems.Quality Control- Test overhauled engines to ensure proper functionality and performance.- Conduct road tests (if applicable) to verify engine reliability and performance.- Ensure that all repairs meet safety and quality standards.Documentation and Reporting- Accurately document all repairs, maintenance, and overhauls in the dealership’s servicesystem.- Prepare detailed reports on engine repairs and overhauls for customers and dealershiprecords.Compliance and Safety- Follow all dealership and manufacturer guidelines for engine repair and overhauling.- Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including proper use of tools, equipment, andpersonal protective gear.- Dispose of hazardous materials, such as engine oil and coolant, in compliance withenvironmental regulations.Training and Development- Stay updated on the latest engine technologies, repair methods, and diagnostic toolsthrough training programs.- Mentor junior mechanics and apprentices as needed.
