MATERIAL ENGINEER

We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Material Engineer to join our team for design development projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, evaluating, and selecting materials for construction projects, ensuring they meet project specifications, standards, and regulations. The role requires collaboration with design and engineering teams to integrate suitable materials that enhance the project's performance, durability, and cost-efficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate and select construction materials, including concrete, steel, aggregates, and other specialty materials, based on project specifications, performance criteria, and environmental conditions.
• Implement and oversee quality assurance and control procedures to ensure that all materials used on-site meet the required standards, specifications, and codes. Conduct regular inspections and tests on materials to verify compliance.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the design and construction teams regarding material specifications, performance characteristics, and best practices for material usage.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source and procure materials that meet project requirements. Review and approve material submittals, technical data sheets, and samples from vendors.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in construction materials, technologies, and standards. Conduct research on innovative materials and sustainable practices that can be integrated into projects to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including material specifications, test results, compliance reports, and material approval logs. Ensure all records are accurate, complete, and readily available for audits and reviews.
• Work closely with structural, civil, architectural, and MEP teams to ensure proper integration of materials into overall project designs. Provide input on material compatibility, durability, and lifecycle performance.
• Ensure all selected materials comply with local regulations, project specifications, Saudi Building Codes, and relevant international standards (ASTM, BS, ACI, etc.).

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree in Materials Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field; Masters Degree is a plus.
• Candidates MUST be immediately available
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in material engineering, preferably in design development projects.
• Strong knowledge of material properties, testing methods, and construction industry standards.
• Experience with quality control procedures and material testing for large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with local and international construction material standards and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in using relevant software tools for material management and quality control.
