Our client is seeking an experienced Marine Agency Manager to establish, lead, and develop a marine agency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the agency’s operations, including chartering, vessel operations, regulatory compliance, and client relations. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on management to ensure efficient and profitable marine agency services.
Responsibilities:
Set up and develop the marine agency,
establishing operational processes and business strategies.
Oversee all marine agency operations,
ensuring efficient coordination of vessel movements, port calls, and cargo
handling.
Act as the primary liaison with port
authorities, shipowners, charterers, terminals, surveyors, and regulatory
bodies.
Ensure compliance with local and
international maritime regulations and industry best practices.
Manage and negotiate agency
agreements, charter parties, and service contracts.
Supervise vessel clearance, crew
changes, bunkering, and cargo documentation.
Develop and maintain strong
relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to drive business
growth.
Monitor market trends, costs, and
operational efficiencies to optimize profitability.
Lead and manage a team of marine
professionals, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
Handle invoicing, financial reporting,
and cost management related to agency operations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business, or a related
field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine agency operations, with
a proven track record in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of vessel operations, port formalities, and
maritime regulations.
Experience with post-fixture operations, including nomination,
demurrage, and invoicing.
Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word,
PowerPoint).
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Master Mariner certification or experience in tanker operations is
a plus.
Fluency in English is required.
Experience in the Saudi market is a big plus.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic operational
environments.
