About This Role


CAE, a global leader in simulation training and operational solutions, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for Quadcopter and Tactical UAV Systems to be based at Al Majma'ah air base. The successful candidate will lead a team of skilled technicians to ensure the operational readiness, safety, and performance of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems. This role involves managing maintenance schedules, troubleshooting technical issues, and upholding CAE's commitment to excellence in aviation and mission-critical operations. 


Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership 
  • Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of quadcopter and tactical UAV systems to ensure mission readiness. 


  • Oversee daily operations of the maintenance team, ensuring efficiency and adherence to established protocols. 


  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies. 


Team Management 
  • Lead and mentor a team of UAV maintenance technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. 


  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide performance feedback. 


  • Ensure team compliance with CAE policies, safety standards, and industry regulations. 


Technical Oversight 
  • Conduct detailed diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of UAV systems, including avionics, propulsion, and payload components. 


  • Stay updated on the latest technological advancements and implement improvements in maintenance practices. 


  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support system upgrades and modifications. 


Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance 
  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to CAE's quality standards, OEM guidelines, and aviation regulations. 


  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance logs, inspections, certifications, and inventory. 


  • Conduct periodic audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. 


Inventory and Resource Management 
  • Manage inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and consumables to minimize downtime. 


  • Coordinate procurement processes in alignment with budgetary


  • and operational requirements. 


Reporting and Communication 
  • Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, system performance, and team metrics. 


  • Act as the primary liaison between the maintenance team and operational stakeholders. 


  • Provide input to leadership on resource needs, challenges, and opportunities for process improvement. 


Education and Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). 


  • 5+ years of experience in UAV or aerospace maintenance, including at least 2 years in a leadership role. 


  • Experience with tactical UAV systems and quadcopters in military, commercial, or government environments is highly desirable. 


  • Certifications and Skills 


  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (required or obtainable within 90 days of hire). 


  • Relevant certifications in UAV or aviation maintenance (e.g., A&P License, OEM-specific training). 


  • Expertise in UAV systems, including propulsion, avionics, payloads, and ground control stations. 


  • Strong knowledge of aviation safety and maintenance standards, such as AS9100 or FAA Part 145. 


  • Proficiency in maintenance management software, diagnostic tools, and technical documentation. 


Soft Skills 
  • Proven leadership and team-building capabilities. 


  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. 


  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in diverse operational settings. 


  • Physical Requirements 


  • Ability to lift and handle UAV components weighing up to [insert weight]. 


  • Flexibility to work in field conditions and travel as needed.
