Job Description
Legal Counseling and Advice:
- Provide professional legal advice on matters related to corporate, contract, and regulatory law.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the legal and business interests of Resal.
- Advise top management and stakeholders on the legal implications of business decisions, strategies, and initiatives.
Compliance Management:
- Ensure that Resal complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including data protection, AML, financial regulations, ISO 27001, and governance, risk management, and compliance systems (GRCs).
- Establish, implement, and manage a compliance program to meet the requirements set forth by regulators, ISO 27001 standards, and industry best practices.
- Monitor and interpret emerging regulations and compliance frameworks to ensure Resal is well-positioned to react to changes and maintain compliance.
Risk Management:
- Identify and minimize potential legal risks or liabilities within Resal's operations.
- Lead investigations into legal or compliance-related incidents, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Establish internal controls and policies to manage risks and ensure compliance across all aspects of the business.
Policy Development and Implementation:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of internal policies related to legal and compliance matters to ensure alignment with external regulations and organizational objectives.
- Provide training and education to Resal employees on policies and procedures concerning legal and compliance issues.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
- Manage and oversee legal disputes, litigation, and claims against the company.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel, as necessary, to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and develop the legal and compliance team, providing guidance and development opportunities as needed.
- Collaborate with other functions to ensure alignment and cross-functional engagement on legal and compliance matters.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies, government agencies, and other stakeholders on matters related to legal and compliance issues.
- Support audits, regulatory inspections, and reviews to ensure Resal’s compliance.
RequirementsEducation:
- BS in Law Studies is required; an LL.M. or relevant certification in compliance (e.g., CCEP) is a plus.
Experience:
- At least 2-5 years of experience in Legal and Compliance or related functions, with proven success in a corporate or fintech environment.
- Experience in leading a legal or compliance team is highly desirable.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Expertise in Corporate Law, Regulatory Compliance, and Risk Management: Deep understanding of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management, particularly ISO 27001 and GRCs.
- Contract Drafting and Negotiation Skills: Ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements effectively.
- Leadership and Team Management: Proven leadership skills with experience in guiding legal and compliance teams.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Strong ability to identify risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to communicate complex legal and compliance matters in a clear, concise manner to non-experts.
- Fluency in English: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail and analysis.
- Ethics and Integrity: A high degree of integrity, ensuring all actions and decisions align with ethical standard
