Job Description

Job Purpose / Objective


Provide accurate and timely legal advice and counselling on a variety of legal matters including regulatory compliance, and legal services to identify and minimize risks to HMG.


Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities


  • Advisory:
    • Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management on all raised issues, especially on contract management.
    • Advice and counsel on HMG’s policies and Labor law affecting the HMG interest.
    • Advise the concerned staff across HMG projects on the legal effects of policy proposals.
    • Instruct counsel and external legal advisers on registration appeals, judicial reviews of decisions and other issues as directed by his/her manager and Legal counsel of the Legal Affairs Department.
    • Respond to legal inquiries and assist in drafting legal opinions, memoranda and other briefing documents.
  • Documentation:
    • Ensure all legal opinions and advice commissioned by HMG are stored in the proper legal logs.
    • Prepare and draft different acts, policies, contracts, briefs, appeals, agreements and legal submissions etc. and draft legal opinions as well for litigation on behalf of HMG.
    • Draw up formalities regarding the settlement of disputes and monitor the implementation of the legal clauses.
    • Keep an update record ongoing cases and advise his/her direct manager on the action/s to be taken accordingly.
    • Assist with HMG’s contractual clauses and other documentation drafting when and where his/her legal advice is required.
  • Reporting:
    • Present regular reports, and report results of the legal researches to his/her manager, and concerned HMG management.
    • Maintaining of legal reports and logs, ensuring that information is provided promptly as required.
    • Conduct any necessary follow-up activities as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
    • Track deadlines for various corporate filings and compliance requirements.
  • Other responsibilities:
    • Assist in reviewing the legal material and any other relevant documents and to identify the most important issues that need to be sorted out on a priority basis.
    • Keep up-to-date his/her knowledge of laws and regulations of any relevant legislating body in direct/indirect involvement with HMG and its services.
    • Suggest actions, and/or settlements throughout the litigation process in accordance with HMG strategy and where appropriate.
    • Ensure that all laws and regulations are fully and promptly implemented to all the HMG.
    • Collaborate with other team members on legal cases/ issues, and communicate to all related parties across HMG.
    • Maintain strictest confidentiality of all in-coming and out-going Correspondence.
    • Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
    • Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
    • Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his knowledge, skills and abilities.

Education/ Professional Qualification


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law or its equivalent

Experience


  • Minimum (4) years of relevant legal experience.
