Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Lead Pre-Sales Engineer with a strong background in solution architecture, business domain knowledge in the financial services industry, and expertise in creating responses to RFI and RFP documents. The successful candidate will work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to develop and present innovative solutions to clients, ensuring they align with customer business objectives and technical requirements. This role requires the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value, demonstrate product capabilities, and support the sales process from initial engagement to closing, including the creation of compelling and technically sound proposals for prospective clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales Support:
- Partner with the sales team to understand customer requirements, business challenges, and strategic goals.
- Lead the technical pre-sales process, including conducting product demonstrations, presentations, and proof of concepts (PoCs).
- Articulate complex technical concepts in clear, non-technical language to both business and technical stakeholders.
- Develop customized solution architectures and design proposals tailored to customer needs within the financial services domain.
- Address technical objections and answer client questions regarding product capabilities, integration, scalability, security, and compliance.
Solution Architecture & Design:
- Leverage deep domain expertise in the financial services industry (e.g., banking, insurance, investment management) to design solutions that meet industry-specific challenges.
- Develop high-level solution architectures, considering client infrastructure, integrations, cloud services, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to ensure the solution meets customer requirements and is aligned with the company’s product roadmap.
Client Engagement & Relationship Building:
- Act as the technical lead in customer-facing discussions, helping clients understand how the company’s products and solutions can address their pain points.
- Work closely with clients during the sales cycle to build trust, demonstrate value, and guide them through the technical decision-making process.
- Provide subject matter expertise on financial services regulations, trends, and technologies during client interactions.
Creation of Responses to RFI/RFP Documents:
- Lead the creation of Responses to RFIs (Request for Information) and RFPs (Request for Proposals), ensuring all technical, functional, and business requirements are addressed comprehensively.
- Work with the sales and marketing teams to tailor responses that align with customer needs, business objectives, and competitive positioning.
- Coordinate with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and consolidate relevant product information, pricing, and technical details required for RFI/RFP responses.
- Ensure RFP responses reflect the company’s strengths and differentiators in the marketplace, addressing key client pain points and business drivers.
- Develop and maintain a library of standard responses, templates, and technical documentation to improve the efficiency of future RFI/RFP submissions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with the product management team to provide customer feedback and contribute to the development of product features that address market needs.
- Provide input to sales proposals and responses to RFPs, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with client needs.
- Train and mentor junior pre-sales engineers on solution design, financial services domain knowledge, and best practices in the pre-sales process.
Market & Competitor Analysis:
- Stay updated on the latest financial services industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors' offerings.
- Assist the marketing and product teams by providing insights into customer pain points, industry requirements, and competitor positioning.
