Job Description

Job Summary

  • The Lead Architect ensures all architectural requirements for the project are properly coordinated and complied with to achieve the full intent of the design, while maintaining the highest levels of quality and adhering to programming requirements.

Job Responsibilities 1

  • Understand the project brief and client requirements and reviews the contract documents, project specifications, design
  • drawings and BOQ, identifies the architectural requirements of the project and contributes in the feasibility study of the
  • project with the design manager, architects and other professional parties.
  • Review the concept design and ensures compliance with the client requirements, budget and all as per time schedule.
  • Contribute in obtaining on time the approval of client on the concept design, managing in the project design as directed
  • by the design manager and IMS procedure.
  • Ensure the deliverables on time for all design stages such as concept, schematic, detailed design and construction
  • documents and liaises with estimation department that design deliverables are within the budget.
  • Set up architectural requirements of the codes, local authorities, safety standards, urban planning, environment
  • requirement and others to be implemented in the formal agreements/contracts with consultants, client representative ,
  • project management organization and other external bodies.
  • Conduct value engineering review of the drawings to ensure the best details and construction methodology with the
  • least cost and time and to follow up on the change orders and proceed with the required process.
  • Establish the design criteria with the Architect of record developed in coordination with structural engineer, MEP
  • engineer, interior designer and end user operation requirements.
  • Review the design deliverables in all stages such as concept, schematic, detailed design and IFC and ensures
  • compliance with the client requirements, time schedules, budget and with the authorities regulations.
  • Review the design development and ensures technical compliance with standards.
  • Conduct constructability review for the design documents and provide solution/ alternatives for the raised issues.
  • Carry out technical review of the design drawings with the team of MEP and structural to ensure the coordination of all
  • disciplines and act as a team leader in coordination and technical review of the design to ensure that all design inputs
  • from all disciplines complies with the safety requirements, fit for purpose (aesthetically, technically and operationally)
  • within minimum environment impact and that the BOQs cover all disciplines as per drawing and specification through
  • coordination with the QSs.
  • Contribute in preparation and architectural specification for the project, manages the development of architectural
  • specification by the Architect of Record and ensures compliance with the client requirements, budget and the
  • international standards, ensures technical compliance of the specified material and to contribute in the value engineering
  • of the specified material to ensure the best values with lowest cost.
  • Liaise with the planner to prepare weekly reports on the design deliverables; submit weekly report on the constraint of
  • design development .
  • Submits reports on time to obtain authority's permissions and liaises with design manager to
  • provide recovery plan in case of late progress.
  • Provide daily documentation and written record as to the progress, problems, solutions, inspections, change orders,
  • construction changes, meeting, shop drawings, product and other items that reflect the progress of the work. To provide
  • technical support during the construction stage through RFI responses, clarifications within the period defined in the time
  • schedule/contract.
