Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide personalized coordinated care, support and treatment for patients and families.
Treat people with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Involve patients, families and caregivers by providing them with education and resources for offering optimal support to promote recovery.
Read and apply all procedures and policies related to the department and hospital.
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures, quality assurance/control program, safety, infection control and environment standard in performance of specimen testing.
Perform manual and automated procedures in laboratory.
Assists the supervisor in performing, orienting, training and assigning duties to subordinate laboratory technologist staff.
Assists the supervisor in inspecting and monitoring work in progress to assure that policies, standard operating procedures and safety precautions are followed.
Assures that adequate supplies are available at all the time, and maintain inventory.
Ensures the appropriate operation of all equipment’s in the section.
Perform all recommended periodic equipment maintenance.
Participates in educational programs, and hospital wide events.
Assist the supervisor in validating accuracy of assigned laboratory reports.
Records all quality control data, analyzes data results and in consultation with the section supervisor, implement and documents remedial actions as required.
Assist the supervisor in ensuring effective two-way communication between staff and management through everyday communication meetings.
Reports to the supervisor that abnormal results have been double checked or investigated and that critical value are promptly reported to the concerned physicians.
Assists the supervisor in optimizing the use of personnel resources through efficient staff scheduling.
Assists the supervisor in developing and modifying existing policies and procedures for the operation of chemistry section.
Assists the supervisor in ensuring that the machines are being well maintained, calibrated, and documented according to established schedule and that all controls are within the acceptable range before testing specimens.
Assists the supervisor in ensuring that the standards established by the Joint Commission International, College of American Pathologists and other Accreditation institutions are met in all respect within the area of responsibility.
Performs other tasks and duties within the scope of the knowledge, skills, and experience required for the job and as assigned by the supervisor.
Assists the supervisor in compiling and submitting periodic activity and statistical reports as required.
Maintains the chain of command based on established policies and procedures.
Maintains confidentiality of matters relating to patients.
Performs other tasks and duties within the scope of the knowledge, skills, and experience required for the job, as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
BSc Degree, (or equivalent in country of origin) in Medical Technology, Science or equivalent acceptable degree.
Must successfully complete the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health requirements for licensure.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Four years in one or more of the laboratory services with a minimum of four years in directly related capacity.
Employment history must be continuous over the past five years.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
Proficient in problem solving.
Good English communication skills.
Computer literacy.
COMPETENCE:
Experienced in any or all field of laboratory science: Blood Banking, Microbiology, hematology, Chemistry and Clinical pathology.
