Mercer is looking for a talented and ambitious investment analyst who is keen to develop their career with a foundation in both client consulting and investment strategy. This is an opportunity to join a great multi-disciplined team providing clients with leading edge investment consulting solutions in one of the world’s largest growth markets.  We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, business acumen and a client focus, alongside the core technical skills including complex asset-liability modelling.


Responsibilities:


You will be responsible for working in a team environment closely alongside senior consultants and analysts in providing ongoing investment advice to a wide range of institutional clients (e.g. pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, family offices, etc.) via regular meetings, conference calls and in writing.  This includes:


  • Assisting senior consultants in the preparation and delivery of both day-to-day, and strategic investment advice
  • Supporting consultants in the design and analysis of investment strategies tailored to our clients’ circumstances
  • Providing operational support to ensure a seamless sales process, including maintaining client relationships, responding to RFPs, and assisting with the onboarding process by guiding clients through required forms and contracting.
  • Developing and reviewing complex strategic asset allocations
  • Asset-liability modelling
  • Portfolio structuring across asset classes (public and private)
  • Manager research and selection across all asset classes
  • Developing investment governance documentation such as investment policy statements
  • Ongoing portfolio performance and manager monitoring
  • Liaise regularly with members of Mercer’s specialist teams including manager research, portfolio management, and operational consulting in order to develop a deep understanding of Mercer’s full investment solutions
  • Analyze different investment markets, managers' investment styles and portfolio characteristics and evaluate their impact on client portfolios
  • Produce accurate and detailed client reports through analysis of client-specific investment data

Knowledge/experience:


  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, math, actuarial science, finance, investment, economics, accounting, and business administration. Other areas with strong quantitative and analytical course content will be considered.
  • Desire to pursue an Actuarial qualification, CFA charter, or/and CAIA charter. Candidate will be expected to pursue and pass related Capital Market Authority qualifications. .
  • Self-motivation, with ability to work well in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities and work in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment, with strong analytical, project management, and communication skills
  • High-level attention to detail and an understanding of its application to the bigger picture
  • Eagerness to learn and keep up to date with the investment industry and market conditions
  • Adaptability and decisiveness
  • Proficient technical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficient analytical and modelling skills
  • Time management skills
