The Interior Designer is responsible to use design techniques to make the best visual and physical use of space. Plans and organizes the design of commercial and domestic interiors such as offices, hotels, shops, public buildings, ships, aircraft and homes. This position also formulates designs which are intended to be practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposes, such as raising productivity, selling merchandise, or improving life style.
Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall
project objectives.
Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination.
Conduct preliminary studies and evaluations of projects to determine interior design requirements.
Work closely with other construction professionals such as architects, quantity surveyors, structural engineers,
building services engineers and builders Liaises with designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs
and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction of the proposed project.
Visit the site to check progress and inspect the work.
Manage the subcontract fabrication, installation, and arrangement of carpeting, fixtures, accessories,
draperies, paint and wall coverings, art work, furniture, and related items.
Manage the detailing to scale the construction and finish of all areas of the project and writing specification of
works including schedules for finishes, ironmongery and equipment.
Ensure to produce detailed drawings for the contractors to use once proposal is accepted.
Ensure all proposals comply with the relevant regulations.
Ensure to produce designs using hand drawings and computer aided design (CAD), showing how the spaces
inside the building will be organized, constructed and finished.
Develop initial ideas and concepts.
Advise client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings or
equipment, and color coordination.
Confer with client to determine factors affecting planning interior environments, such as budget, architectural
preferences, and purpose and function.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite to create detailed interior design plans and visualizations.
Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and technical standards to ensure compliance and safety in interior design projects.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to understand project requirements and translate them into functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces.
Creative flair and a keen eye for detail to conceptualize innovative design solutions that meet client needs and enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of interior spaces.
Experience in space planning, material selection, and furniture layout to optimize functionality, flow, and spatial efficiency in interior design projects.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
