Job Description

Job Purpose

Responsible for implementing industrialization standards in collaboration with the Business Unit (BU), adhering to the manufacturing policy and relevant standards. This involves tasks such as setting standard times and routing for manufacturing operations, planning the production process, and calculating the necessary resources for meeting demand. Additionally, responsible for identifying and implementing improvement initiatives and adopting manufacturing best practices such as 6S and KAIZEN.




Key Accountability Areas

Work Measurement and Process Planning


  • Conduct work measurement for new or existing products, calculating routing time based on certified motion and work content studies.
  • Establish optimized process planning for manufacturing, calculating required resources in terms of machines and manpower, considering both quality and cost.

Make or Buy Analysis and Equipment Validation


  • Conduct “make or buy” analysis to identify the most efficient and economic production process, outlining pros and cons for business unit decisions.
  • Validate requests for new production equipment, prepare business cases, and plan layout and infrastructure requirements for decision-making.

Automation and Documentation


  • Identify automation opportunities, prepare technical specifications, obtain quotations, and lead the execution process from nomination to FAT and handover.
  • Prepare all manufacturing process-related documents, such as failure mode and effect analysis, work instructions, and job cards, to guide operators.

Cost Structure and Process Improvement


  • Establish cost structure components in coordination with production and finance to derive accurate product costing.
  • Develop improvements in the manufacturing process with the operations team to reduce production time and eliminate waste.

Productivity Monitoring and Variance Investigation


  • Monitor productivity at different stages by reviewing daily work outputs to identify procedural problems.
  • Investigate variances with production and finance teams to address unoptimized usage of manpower, machines, or materials.

Best Practices Implementation


  • Coordinate with the business unit to implement recognized best manufacturing practices, such as 6S and Kaizen, and monitor their effectiveness.

  • Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

  • Solve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

  • Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.

Business Process Improvements:


  • Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.

Compliance:


  • Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.

Health, Safety, and Environment:


  • Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.


Academic Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering
