Responsibilities
- Conduct hydrological studies and analyses to support infrastructure design and planning.
- Develop hydrological models and simulations to predict water behavior and assess flood risks.
- Evaluate the impact of various factors on water resources, including climate changes, land use, and urbanization.
- Collaborate with civil engineers and other stakeholders to ensure hydrological considerations are integrated into project design and execution.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and standards in hydrological assessments.
- Monitor and analyze hydrological data to provide insights on water resource management and sustainability.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret hydrological data, including precipitation, runoff, streamflow, and groundwater levels.
- Hydrological Modeling: Develop and apply hydrological models to simulate water flow, predict flood events, and assess water availability.
- Water Resource Management: Develop and implement water resource management plans to ensure sustainable and equitable use of water resources.
- Flood Control: Design and implement flood control measures, such as dams, levees, and detention ponds.
- Drainage Systems: Design and maintain drainage systems to prevent flooding and manage stormwater runoff.
- Water Quality Assessment and Improvement: Assess water quality and develop strategies to improve water quality, including treatment processes and pollution control measures.
- Environmental Impact Assessment: Conduct environmental impact assessments to evaluate the potential effects of development projects on water resources.
- Climate Change Adaptation: Develop strategies to adapt to the impacts of climate change on water resources, such as changes in precipitation patterns and rising sea levels.
- Research and Development: Conduct research and development projects to advance hydrological knowledge and develop innovative solutions.
