ROLE OVERVIEW
HV Planning Manager is expected to play a critical role in planning NEOM grid powered by 100% renewable energy resources, incorporating state-of-the art technologies to provide reliable and continuous power to NEOM customer.
ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES
The HV Planning Manager responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team comprising of senior and qualified planning engineers and NEOM transmission network planning activities powered by 100% renewable energy resources
- To support NEOM network planning activities such as, load forecasting and generation integration planning, and sharing planning activities and data with other NEOM Energy departments
- Representing Grid team in supporting NEOM Masterplan activities for planning various NEOM infrastructure projects
- Perform project cost estimates
- Review work packages at planning level
- Act as a focal point for power system planning related activities to coordinate with project managers, project engineers, and other internal and external stakeholders
- Provide regular project brief and reporting to the Director
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, design team, utilities, and government organizations.
Planning and Strategy
- Help develop NEOM planning documents, standards, specifications and documentations
- Proactively contributes to wider grid planning activities such as energy masterplan
Interfacing with government agencies and investors
- Actively engage with SEC and other stakeholders to further NEOM vision to achieve 100% RES powered network.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 7+ years of experience in similar field.
- 4+ years of experience in managing a team.
- Proficient in one of the power system simulation tools such as PSSE, DIgSILENT or PSCAD
- Proficient knowledge of RES integration into the Grid
- Good understanding and knowledge of main electrical equipment & systems
- Good knowledge of network studies such as load flow, short circuit, stability and harmonic studies
- Good knowledge of Solar and Wind Power Plants, HVDC and FACTS devices
- Knowledge of Energy Storage System will be a plus
- Ability to work independently or with minimal guidance.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills,
- Very good knowledge of local and International Standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in power engineering or relevant field.
- Master’s degree is a advantageous.
