Job Description

The HSE Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance within the construction and building industry. This position is essential for maintaining a safe working environment, minimizing risks, and promoting sustainable practices. The HSE Engineer will work closely with project teams to implement safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of health and safety regulations, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  2. Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  3. Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices and emergency response.
  4. Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for improvement.
  5. Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.
  6. Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in legislation affecting health and safety.
  8. Assist in the preparation of safety documentation for regulatory submissions.
  9. Promote a culture of safety within the organization through awareness campaigns.
  10. Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance.
