Job Description
Safely operate a heavy truck to transport materials, products, and goods to and from various locations (e.g., warehouses, distribution centers, client sites).
Load and unload materials (e.g., PM, RM, FG, PPG) from the truck, ensuring proper handling and secure loading for safe transportation.
Ensure that all transported materials are delivered to the correct destination in a timely and safe manner.
Perform regular vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in optimal condition and report any mechanical or safety issues immediately to the supervisor.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving, maintaining a safe driving record.
Ensure all delivery documents (e.g., bills of lading, shipping documents) are correctly completed, signed, and filed as required.
Follow safety protocols and EHS SOPs to ensure safe handling of goods and safe operation of the vehicle.
Maintain accurate logs (e.g., temperature log, delivery log, fuel log) and submit them as required.
Report any discrepancies, damages, or mismatches of goods during transportation to the supervisor.
Ensure proper securement of loads to prevent any shifting or damage during transit.
Communicate with warehouse staff and other relevant personnel to confirm delivery details and scheduling.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the truck, including daily interior and exterior cleaning when necessary.
Follow company’s operational procedures, including adherence to cGMP guidelines during the loading and unloading process.
Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor, such as assisting with the warehouse duties when needed.
Ensure compliance with local transportation regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and other legal requirements.
Secondary Education or higher; additional driving certifications are a plus.
Proven experience as a Heavy Truck Driver with a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Experience operating heavy trucks and other large vehicles.
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
Good physical condition and health to handle manual tasks and long driving hours.
