About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Private Cloud Infrastructure to lead the design, implementation, and management of our private cloud infrastructure in a highly regulated banking environment. You will play a key role in driving the strategic direction and operational excellence of our Nutanix-based private cloud platform, ensuring that it meets the demands of both security and performance while supporting the growth and digital transformation of our banking services.As the Head of Private Cloud Infrastructure, you will lead a team of engineers, architects, and system administrators, overseeing the complete lifecycle of our cloud infrastructure, from design to deployment, optimization, and ongoing management.Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the bank's private cloud infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. Nutanix Expertise: Oversee the deployment and optimization of Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI), leveraging Nutanix’s Acropolis, Prism, and other solutions to deliver a scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud platform. Infrastructure Management: Lead the design and management of our private cloud environment, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities. Cloud Operations: Manage day-to-day operations of the private cloud, optimizing resource usage, troubleshooting performance issues, and ensuring operational efficiency. Security & Compliance: Ensure that the cloud infrastructure complies with industry standards and regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, and other financial regulations). Implement security measures such as encryption, access controls, and threat mitigation strategies. Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of cloud engineers and administrators. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with application teams, cybersecurity professionals, data teams, and senior management to ensure cloud services meet business needs and align with the bank's digital transformation objectives. Cloud Automation & Orchestration: Implement and manage automation solutions to streamline cloud provisioning, resource scaling, and management processes using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Nutanix automation solutions. Cost Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud spending, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining the infrastructure's performance and reliability. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring that Nutanix and other cloud-related contracts and services meet the bank’s needs and performance standards. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., Nutanix Certified Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) preferred. Experience: At least 8-10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure management, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role. Strong experience with Nutanix private cloud solutions (HCI, Acropolis, Prism) and other cloud platforms. Proven track record in designing, deploying, and managing private cloud infrastructure in a regulated, high-security environment (preferably in financial services). Expertise in cloud security, compliance, and risk management, specifically in banking and financial services. Experience with cloud automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Nutanix solutions). Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and manage cross-functional teams. Deep understanding of cloud computing architectures, data storage, virtualization technologies, and enterprise IT systems. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex infrastructure challenges. Ability to work under pressure and handle critical incidents or outages with composure and decisiveness. Desirable Attributes Experience in driving digital transformation initiatives within financial institutions. Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud strategies. Strong analytical skills, with a keen understanding of cloud cost management and optimization strategies. In-depth knowledge of ITIL frameworks and DevOps practices.
