About the Job:
The Head Chef oversees all kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation. They manage staff, handle inventory, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Duties:
Employees should adhere to company rules and fulfill their assigned responsibilities, while also recognizing that their duties may extend beyond the specific tasks outlined. Employees should maintain professional conduct by showing respect and courtesy to all colleagues, adhering to the dress code, and using professional communication skills. Proper hygiene, accurate attendance, and mindful use of company property are also essential for maintaining professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the kitchen operations and ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
- Manage kitchen staff including training and scheduling.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Track waste production par level.
- Handles quality of products before receiving according to preset qualifications.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with Quality control and Food Safety managers to ensure proper conduct of production.
- Supervise chefs work.
- Request and interview new kitchen hires.
- Manage and work closely with other Chefs of all levels.
- Oversee catering menus and supervise production.
- Coordinate with maintenance team for emergency and preventative site visits.
- Coordinate with Chef Steward the process of deep cleaning and pest control schedules and oversee proper execution.
Requirements:
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience in a senior culinary role.
- Minimum of 7-10 years in the culinary field, with at least 3-5 years in a head chef role.
- Strong leadership and management abilities.
- Excellent culinary skills and creativity.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
