Role Purpose:
The assurance senior specialist is responsible for conducting assurance activities assigned to him/her relating to risk management, compliance, and business continuity management within ALJ Enterprises. This includes supporting the implementation of the risk management framework and business continuity planning while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and other obligations.
Key Activities:
Risk Management:
- Assist in identifying, assessing, and managing risks within the organization, ensuring all risks are identified early and mitigated effectively.
- Support the update of the risk registers, ensuring that identified risks are accurately tracked and regularly reported.
- Support the risk monitoring, tracking and reporting activities as directed by the line manager.
- Track and follow up on the recommendations and exceeding appetite risks.
Compliance Support:
- Assist in monitoring the compliance obligations by updating the compliance universe regularly and when required, covering the applicable regulations and company-wide policies and standards.
- Perform compliance assessments to evaluate adherence to compliance standards.
- Perform compliance inspections visits to the business units and departments to check the compliance status.
- Help prepare compliance documentation and reports, providing insights on areas requiring attention or improvement.
- Track and follow up on the recommendations and non-compliance issues.
Business Continuity Assistance:
- Support the development and testing of business continuity plans to ensure the organization’s ability to respond effectively to disruptions.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and business impact analysis to protect critical business functions.
- Help manage and test business continuity plans, ensuring the organization is prepared for unexpected events.
Internal Communication:
- Work closely with the reporting line manager, business units, and other departments to ensure alignment on risk, compliance, and business continuity initiatives.
- Regularly communicate updates on risk management and compliance status to respective parties as per the direction of the line manager.
- Assist in delivering training sessions and presentations to internal teams on risk management and compliance topics, fostering a culture of awareness.
External Communication:
- Collaborate with external parties, regulators, and third-party vendors when required in accordance with the directions of the line manager.
- Act as a point of contact for external stakeholders regarding risk management, compliance, and business continuity queries in accordance with the directions of the line manager.
- Assist in maintaining positive relationships with regulatory bodies and ensuring effective communication during compliance reviews and inspections.
- Support the development of best practices for risk management, compliance, and business continuity across the organization.
- Participate in innovation sessions to develop new procedures or refine existing ones that address emerging risks or regulatory changes.
- Propose solutions to improve operational efficiency, ensuring the assurance processes align with industry standards and best practices.
