Job Description

Responsibilities:


  • Conduct geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance, soil and rock sampling, and in-situ testing to assess subsurface conditions for earthwork projects.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses and provide recommendations for excavation, embankment, slope stability, and foundation design.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop cost-effective and technically sound solutions for earthwork challenges.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, including data analysis, engineering analyses, and design recommendations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct construction monitoring and provide field engineering support during earthwork activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Advise on best practices and innovative technologies related to earthwork and geotechnical engineering to enhance project efficiency and safety.
  • Evaluate geotechnical risks associated with earthwork projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project safety and success.
  • Review and interpret geotechnical data from various sources, including laboratory testing results, geophysical surveys, and geological reports, to inform engineering decisions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff to foster professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to address geotechnical concerns, present findings and recommendations, and facilitate project approvals.
  • Conduct geotechnical field reconnaissance and inspections to assess site conditions, identify potential hazards, and verify compliance with design specifications.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in geotechnical engineering to enhance project delivery and innovation.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and construction progress evaluations to ensure geotechnical requirements are met and project milestones are achieved.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely delivery of geotechnical services and materials for earthwork projects.
  • Support business development efforts by participating in proposal preparation, client presentations, and project pitches to showcase expertise in geotechnical engineering.

Essential Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Minimum 8 years of proven experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on earthwork projects.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software, such as slope stability, settlement, and bearing capacity programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations related to earthwork and geotechnical engineering.
