Job Description

  • Manual handling
  • Working in a team environment

  • Operating of Mechanical Handling Equipment
  • Compliance with site H&S regulations.  
  • Manual loading and unloading of containers and road vehicles
  • Product Order selection using English language instructions
  • Daily safety checks on allocated MHE.
  • Comply with appropriate working time legislation & shift timings as published by Management
  • General housekeeping within the warehouse and yard area
  • Coordination of segregation of the inbound and outbound material
  • Report any maintenance requirements or damage to supervisor in a timely manner
  • Maintenance of clean, safe work environment

Skills

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in general materials handling
  • Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules in English
  • Ability to read, understand and follow directions/instructions in English
  • Ability to count accurately and to perform simple math calculations
  • Willingness to progress and train in Mechanical handling equipment e.g.
  • Forklift truck operation 
  • Minimum physical health level:
  • Have appropriate hand, eye and foot co-ordination to effectively use mechanical handling equipment
  • Ability to move product which may require bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching and/or lifting, in line with Health & Safety regulations
  • Physical strength to lift 35kgs to chest level
  • No significant eyesight defect or colorblindness
