NATURE AND SCOPEThis individual reports directly to the CEO.  This individual directly supports senior management and is an active member of the leadership teams. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Oversight and management of litigation and compliance issues affecting the business operations including but not limited to privacy and data security, intellectual property, anti-corruption and anti-bribery, regulatory and employment matters. 
  • Identify and assess risk areas and legal needs and challenges. Identify appropriate legal resources to address these.
  • Selection of and relationships with outside counsel.
  • Preparation and oversight of legal budget.
  • Implement and manage corporate , regulatory and Code of Conduct compliance programs.
  • Support procuremet contracting
  • Supervise the Law Department staff
  • Prepare Board and Committee minutes
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Must possess an immense veracity and extensive understanding on a wide range of legal issues and business experience. Must possess exceptional decision-making skills.
  • The gravitas required to interact with a sophistacted management team and a Board of Directors composed of senior executives from JIGPC’s ownership group.
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree or equivalent, passed the applicable bar exam, and able to practice law in areas of responsibility.
  • A senior associate or partner in a major law firm, or equivalent experience working for multi-national company. Minimum of 10+ years legal experience working internationally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Very strong business sense. A clear and comprehensive understanding of legal matters such as finance, property, employment; corporate governance and commercial matters like compliance, contracts and employment and intellectual property.
  • Exceptional leadership and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to secure collective buy-in.
  • Experience in working within a dynamic, flexible and fast paced environment with a high work ethic.
  • Experience of working across multiple time-zones and an appreciation of international cultures. Fluent in English.
