Food Service Worker – Medina (Part-Time)
General Description
The Food Service Worker works under the direction of the Medina Cook and the Food Operations Supervisor. Responsible for preparation and serving of meals on-site. Must adhere to food service practices in compliance with Medina County Health District, Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) and Ohio Department of Aging (ODA), and Medina County Senior & Adult Services mandates and directives.
Essential Job Functions
Responsible for daily service provision of meals at the Medina Senior Center including Title III home delivered and congregate meal program, including food preparation, serving meals and clean-up. Adherence to all food service practices, including compliance with Health District, WRAAA and ODA mandates. Attendance at in-service and other meetings as required. All other duties as required by Medina Cook, Supervisor and Director.
Qualifications
Graduate from high school or equivalent. Must possess and maintain reliable transportation.
Knowledge
Knowledge of safety procedures, including basic first aid and CPR. Knowledge of departmental County policies and procedures. Knowledge of Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging, Ohio Department of Aging, Medina County Senior & Adult Services, FDA Food Code, and Medina County Health Department mandates and directives.
Abilities
Maintains a safe working environment. Correct usage of equipment and facilities. Ability to follow directions Ability to establish positive client and coworker relations
Other Requirements
Ability to effectively communicate with the public, making observations and referrals when necessary Ability to work with limited supervision Shares and safeguards client information with appropriate agencies/staff when necessary. Basic math skills; basic computer skills

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the public. Standing for long periods of time as well as the ability to bend, push, reach, squat and kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Exposed to equipment generating heat and cold. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee travels by automobile and is exposed to changing weather conditions. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to travel throughout Medina County
