About the Job:
The Food Safety Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, assessing and implementing all quality standards of the receiving, storing, handling and transportation of Food and Beverage.
Duties:
Employees should adhere to company rules and fulfill their assigned responsibilities, while also recognizing that their duties may extend beyond the specific tasks outlined. Employees should maintain professional conduct by showing respect and courtesy to all colleagues, adhering to the dress code, and using professional communication skills. Proper hygiene, accurate attendance, and mindful use of company property are also essential for maintaining professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Sets the Food and Safety protocols that needs to be followed in choosing ingredients, processing stages, handling and storage practices, receiving in and out process.
- Carry out routine inspections and audits to all the restaurants and warehouses to ensure adherence to local food safety regulations and to FLH's policies and procedures regarding deliveries, preparation, raw materials, end-products, storage and handling.
- Guide the team in developing quality control documentation and preparing reports on food safety and quality status and present them on a regular basis to the management
- Develop, oversee and enforce GMP, SOP, and HACCP requirements.
- Investigate internal and external customer
- complaints to ensure compliance to
- established standards.
- Receive complaints from branch manager regarding any encountered problems during processing.
- Conduct visits to audit and assess vendor facilities to ensure compliance to local food safety regulations as well as to FLHs Policies and Procedures. He represents the company during his visits to ensure that quality standards are met.
- Develop and review Quality Assurance documentation and prepare reports on food safety and quality status by gathering relevant information related to failed processes, system improvement, corrective actions and inspections.
- Organize and conduct where applicable, with an accredited body, training for all food handlers, according to the required Certifications and/or to FLH's Policies and Procedures. Contact GWR or Boecker to implement training for staff.
- Research new technologies and resources in the market and provide recommendations on methods that can be adapted.
- Will be responsible of coordinating with Food Safety Coordinator in case branches
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in food science, Nutrition or a related field.
- Food & Safety training certification is a must.
- HACCP / HABC Certifications is a plus
- 5 years of experience in F&B operations; of which minimum of 3 years in the Middle East and 3 years in Quality Control
- Fluency in English.
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to write and present reports.
