Overview

We are seeking a Fire Protection Trainer to join our Engineering & Training Services Division of the Saudi Aramco Fire Protection organization.


The Fire Protection’s Engineering & Training Services Division is responsible for providing 3rd party accredited training, development and professional certification opportunities to the Saudi Aramco Fire Protection’s workforce from initial recruit through to Chief Fire Officer. In support of our mission, the division operates a National Board for Fire Service Professional Qualifications and International Fire Service Accreditation Congress accredited certification system and delivers training primarily through one of its 3 designated training centers.


Your primary role is to lead programs from the instructional design phase through to field delivery and obtaining 3rd party accreditation of the relevant test instrument phase of the learning process in line with the latest published edition of the appropriate NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standard. Additionally, you will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot various fire training facility related processes, firefighting systems and equipment.  




Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:


  • Perform and demonstrate at a role model level of proficiency, all skills required of trainees within the training course being delivered, under adverse environmental conditions such as extreme heat, humidity within IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) live fire and technical rescue environments.
  • Operate, inspect, maintain, test, and service field training resources, systems, and facilities assigned to the fire protection’s training centers and grounds.
  • Facilitate safe and effective training and assessments.
  • Perform training needs analyses and assessments on fire and rescue training and development programs.
  • Coach, mentor and develop instructional faculty that serve in roles below the incumbent’s level for purposes of workforce development, career progression and succession.


Minimum Requirements
  • As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in either Fire Science, Emergency Management, Occupational Safety or related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • You will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in frontline fire-rescue response operations, with an organization that has a comparable risk profile of Saudi Aramco, Fire Protection response organizations that cover any combination of structural infrastructure—residential, offices, warehouses, public assemblies (hospitals, schools, convention centers, etc.) and mixed occupancies.
  • Additionally, Fire Protection response organizations that cover any combination of industrial infrastructure—oil & gas, petrochemical, aviation, maritime, manufacturing, military, etc.
  • Examples: Military bases, industrial work camps, Class III/IV international airports, bulk terminals, refineries, gas plants and fuel storage depots, automotive manufacturing plant, nuclear plant facilities, other manufacturing plants, railways, and major transportation terminals (metro, trains, buses, etc.).  Shall have demonstrable, credible work experiences of at least 10 years in any combination of the above areas, with a population risk profile of 6000+ people, including at least 5 years’ experience in developing and delivering industrial fire and rescue accredited curricula. Industrial operations experience is preferred.
  • You will be able to demonstrate mastery-level knowledge, skills, and abilities in fire-rescue operations.
  • You will have the ability to meet the organization’s physical fitness requirements.
  • You will have at a minimum either Pro Board or IFSAC Accredited Certification as Fire-Fighter-I/II, Hazardous Materials Operations Level, Fire Service Instructor Level-II and Fire Officer Level-II. 
  • Additional Pro Board or IFSAC certification in areas of Haz-Mat, Technical Rescue, ARFF, are preferred.
  • It is also necessary that you have suitable technical aptitude in operations and maintenance of fire service equipment, systems, and processes.
