Fire Equipment Inspector

As a Fire Equipment Inspector, your main responsibility will be to inspect and assess the functionality and compliance of fire equipment. Your expertise in fire safety and prevention will ensure that all fire equipment is in proper working order and ready for use in case of emergencies.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily testing, inspection and coordinate maintenance activities of fire protection systems for company assets.
2. Report to the Fire Inspection Coordinator on the daily status of impaired fire protection systems.
3. Ensure that site fire protection systems are tested, inspected and maintained as per Loss Prevention Principles.
4. Report and track deficiencies found during inspections.
5. Assist the technical services manager with auditing and root cause investigation of fire protection system failures.
6. Ensure that all testing and inspections of fire protection systems are conducted on schedule and that no past due inspections occur according to NFPA.
7. Conduct/witness acceptance testing for fire protection systems when mechanical completion or return to service.
8. Issue work permits, fire protection impairments for Emergency Services department assets.
9. Create and track work orders, MOCs and PRs related to Emergency Services department assets.
10. Inspection duties include but not limited to, Fire Alarm and Detection, Wet, Foam, Pumps, Hydrants, Monitors, Gas and Life Safety Code Inspections.
11. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.
